MOVING TIPS

PACKING: Make sure that you use proper wrapping and cushioning materials such as bubble wrap and packing paper. Don’t use newspaper, as ink can rub off on anything it touches. That’s why we use unprinted materials to pack your belongings. You can purchase packing materials from us while you sit back and relax and let The Varsity Boys handle all of your packing needs. We highly recommend that fragile items such as dishware and glassware are individually wrapped with adequate bubble wrap and packing paper.

Use a heavy marker like a sharpie to mark boxes for easy reading. On carton tops, list contents such as “CHINA” or “CRYSTAL.” On the side of the carton, close to the top, mark which room the box goes into. If the boxes contain fragile items, mark “FRAGILE” in large bold on all four sides. If the box contains liquids or other fragile items, mark “THIS END UP” on carton top and put arrows pointing up on all four sides. Lastly feel free to let The Varsity Boys know any items that may concern you.
OTHER TIPS:
  • Use the correct size of boxes with adequate strength.
  • Cushion bottom of carton with several inches of crushed paper and between items and layers.
  • Wrap all fragile items individually.
  • Don’t overfill. Boxes should not bulge.
  • Use PVC or strapping tape to guard against cartons opening during transit.
